Video analysis, or videotape feedback (VTFB), is a fundamental component of coaching that helps players learn or improve a particular motion, particularly when that motion requires multiple body parts to move in different directions and planes (like pitching a ball). It provides visual post-performance feedback, allowing players to visualize and understand incorrect mechanics and reinforce correct mechanics.
Video analysis + 60 minute lesson
A video analysis includes an hour lesson with a video of the fastball and one secondary pitch, High Heat instructor’s analysis of the motion, and a follow-up meeting with the player/parent/coach to review the video and discuss areas for improvement. During this discussion, we use a frame-by-frame breakdown of the motion to illustrate and explain how and when to improve techniques or mechanics.
